Sitemap untuk Blogspot

Salah satu syarat agar situs kita ter index oleh google adalah submit sitemap ke google webmaster. Ya supaya google sendiri tidak terlalu lama untuk meng index situs kita, karena kita sudah memberitahukan link-link site kita sebelumnya melalui sitemap yang sudah di submit.

Jika anda memiliki situs self hosting hosting berbayar, membuat sitemap dan menyimpannya bukanlah sebuah masalah. Space hosting anda pastilah masih cukup untuk menyimpan sebuah file sitemap. Permasalahannya akan muncul ketika anda menggunakan layanan free hosting, bersyukurlah anda yang menggunakan layanan Blogspot/blogger.com. Walaupun kita tidak mempunyai space untuk menyimpan file sitemap ya karena memang tidak disediakan, tapi itu masih bisa di-akalin.

Format sitemap ketika di submit ke Google Webmaster haruslah :

http://namadomainanda/namafilesitemap.xml

yang artinya file sitemap tersebut harus berada langsung dibawah root domain anda. Inilah yang menjadi masalah ketika kita menggunakan layanan free hosting. Saya mengalaminya kemaren, lalu saya coba untuk mencari-cari apakah ada semacam plugin atau widget dari blogger yang bisa mendukung itu. Tapi ternyata bukan plug-in yang mendukunya, tapi link feed dari blogger kita tersebut yang kita manfaatkan.

Nah lho koq bisa? iya pada dasarnya Google Webmaster akan menerima sitemap berformat “xml” dan feed dari blogger bisa kita paksa untuk mejadi “xml”. Bersyukurlah kembali karena blogger membuat permalink setiap sub-sub blogger menjadi static. Jadi kira-kira saat kita submit sitemap kita ke google webmasters, maka format file sitemapnya diisikan seperti ini:

http://yourblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&max-results=100

Wordpress and other blogging platforms have some Sitemap generator plugins for the same.If you are using blogger you can use your blog’s atom.xml feed as your sitemap. To do this simply login to your Google Webmaster Tool Account.If you havent verified your site atwebmaster tools do that and then add a sitemap for your blog.In the sitemap url give the following url http://yourblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&max-results=100 or http://www.yourdomain.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&max-results=100

The ?redirect=false was intentionally added as the wemaster tools may report errors if you are usig Feedburer Redirection. The max-results=100 is responsible for listing the latest 100 posts

Now if you have more than 100 posts you will have to add an another alternate sitemap in addition to this.

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=101&max-results=100

If you have more than 200 posts then you should add another sitemap

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=201&max-results=100

Similarly you have to add more sitemaps if your post number is more than 300,400 or 500 posts by changing the start index value to 301,401,501 etc respectively..

You can also use rss.xml in place of atom.xml in all of these sitemap urls..
Alterntivey i suggest you to use Gsite Crawler. This tool works under windows and generates an xml sitemap of for your site.But this is useful only in case of FTP published Blogger blogs.If you have other sites you can use this tool to generate a sitemap and then upload it to your site for webmastertools
